What is Tele2 offering?
Tele2 offers a low price high quality fixed line telephony service to Residential Customers.
Already 25 million Customers in 24 European countries are using our services.

Who can register with Tele2?
Residential Customers with an active Eircom line can register with Tele2.

Will my telephony service be affected if I change to Tele2?
Your number stays the same, you dial all numbers exactly as before and the quality is as good. The change over to Tele2 is seamless, the only difference being that you will benefit from our lower rates!

How many phone numbers can I register with Tele2?
You can register as many of your residential numbers as you wish with Tele2.

What is "CPS"?
Our service is accessed by carrier pre-selection (CPS). CPS is the easiest option for using an alternative telecommunications supplier, as it requires absolutely no effort! After you have switched to Tele2, all your calls will automatically go through Tele2.

Do I need to enter a prefix before I dial a number?
No. You simply dial the number as usual.

What are the opening hours of Tele2 customer service?
Tele2 values your call. Our Customer service team is available to you everyday from 8 am to 10 pm..

Will my extra services that I have with Eircom be affected?
Services that Eircom provides to you on your line, like call forwarding, call waiting, caller display, 1471, messaging and ring back will not be affected by your switch over to Tele2.

Can I call emergency services?
Yes, Eircom will continue to provide this service for you.

Can I override my Tele2 service once my telephone has been diverted to Tele2?
Yes, you can use your Eircom service at any time by dialing the prefix 13666. It's important to remember that you will be charged Eircom's applicable rates for any calls prefixed by their 13666 prefix.

Would my Internet Service be affected?

You are free to use the internet anyway you choose. Your billing relationship with your internet service provider will not change.

What happens if I move?
When moving, (with or without the same telephone number), your service with Tele2 will probably be terminated by Eircom's provision processes. While this is unfortunately out of our control, we will be delighted to switch you back to our service, just call our Customer Services team anyday between 8 am to 10 pm with your new Eircom Account Number and we'll take care of the rest...

Registration

How do I become a Tele2 customer?
One call does it all!
Phone our registration line on Freephone 1800 928 455 and our Customer service team will be delighted to help you to complete your registration. The registration process should only take a few minutes, and you will need to have a recent Eircom bill to hand.

How long will it take to get registered with the service?

All applications should be processed within 15 days from the day you register with us. You will receive an automatic call from Tele2 the day you switch over has been activated.

How many phone numbers can I register with Tele2?
You can register as many numbers as you wish with Tele2.

Your Bill

How often do Tele2 bill?
Tele2 bills you for calls every month.

Can I get an itemized bill?
Yes, Tele2 provides itemized bills for free. This service is provided to all of our Customers.

Is there a minimum monthly call spend?
There is no monthly call spend. Our highly competitive rates apply to all our Customers irrespective of how much or how little you spend.

What are the methods of payment I can use?
(a) By Direct Debit
(b) At any An Post outlet and Post Office
(c) By Cheque

Line Rental


How will I pay for my line rental?
Your Tele2 bill covers the cost of calls and services with Tele2.
You will continue to be billed by Eircom for your line rental and ancillary services.

Is it possible to pay my line rental and calls on one bill?

Not at this stage. We are working closely with Comreg (the Irish Telecommunications regularoy authority) to progress this. Once this is available, we will inform all our Customers.

If I am an OAP (Old Age Pensioner) do I still qualify for free line rental?

Yes, the Department of Social and Family Affairs (DFSA) will still pay your line rental.

Will I still receive my line rental allowance if I change to Tele2?
Yes, the Department of Social and Family Affairs (DFSA) will still pay your line rental.

Does this affect my line maintenance - e.g. in the case of a fault on the line?

No it does not! You are still paying your line rental to Eircom - and Eircom is obliged to maintain all lines, irrespective of which call provider you choose to use.
Eircom have given a commitment to repair all lines within 48 hours - and if unable to do this, they offer 2 months free line rental.)

If I have a problem with my line who do I report it to?
You can report it directly to Eircom by calling 1901, (this is a free call).

Will Eircom RingBack still work if I change to Tele2?
Yes, this service will still be available. Eircom will charge you for the ring back option, but the call is carried and charged by Tele2.

Will Eircom Messaging still work if I change to Tele2?
Yes, this voice mail service will still be available. However, the service charge will appear on the Eircom bill.

Will Eircom Call Waiting still work if I change to Tele2?
Yes, this service will continue to work as before and there is no charge for this service.

Will Eircom Call Forwarding still work if I change to Tele2?
Yes, as before you will be able to forward your calls to any phone in Ireland or to your mobile. The set up cost is charged for by Eircom but the calls will be charged by Tele2.

Will Eircom Call Tracking still work if I change to Tele2?

This service is available with Tele2, however if you are using this service all the calls you are tracking will be charged on your Eircom bill. Hence your savings will be less.

Will Eircom Caller Display still work if I change to Tele2?
Yes, this service will continue to work as before and there is no charge for this service. However, if Eircom introduces a charge this will appear on the Eircom bill.

Will Eircom Caller Line Restriction still work if I change to Tele2?
Yes, this service will continue to work as before and there is no charge for this service. However, if Eircom introduces a charge this will appear on the Eircom bill.

Will Eircom 1471 (service that provides details of the last call made to you) still work if I change to Tele2?
Yes, this service will still be available. However, the service charge will appear on the Eircom bill.

Will Eircom Alarm/ Reminder call still work if I change to Tele2?
Yes, this service will still be available. However, the service charge will appear on the Eircom bill.

Will Eircom Three Way Calling still work if I change to Tele2?

Yes, this service will still be available. When a three way call is made from a Tele2 line, both calls will be carried and charged by Tele2
